The support of the business community is vital to the success of Mummy’s Star. However, we recognise that it can’t be one-way and our aim is to work in partnership with our corporate supporters to the benefit of both parties.
In return for increased income and profile, supporting Mummy’s Star can help companies to enhance customer relations, build stronger staff teams and increase opportunities for good PR.
Mummy’s Star and Tosca Debt Capital are Shining a Light on Cancer and Pregnancy.
As Mummy’s Star continues to rapidly grow and the number of families needing our support increases, there is the on-going challenge to build and sustain the charity so that we can continue providing the vital support for families dealing with cancer and pregnancy. So, in light of this we are delighted to announce our new and exciting partnership with Manchester based capital specialists Tosca Debt Capital (TDC).
The partnership has developed from a friendship between Richard Williams (Partner at TDC) and Pete Wallroth (our Founder) in their early days at school together and so it will be a special relationship with much further reaching benefits for both organisations than a more traditional partnership offers. Drawing upon the experience that Richard and the team at TDC can offer, will help Mummy’s Star to develop our charity model to work even smarter and efficiently. In turn, we will work hard to raise awareness to the team at TDC and their networks of the incredibly challenging realities of what our families go through.
This special partnership will also provide benefits for the families we support, from giving respite time and memory breaks, to raising awareness and increasing our profile around the country in hospitals and other medical facilities.
Pete Wallroth, the Founder and CEO at Mummy’s Star added: ‘We’re delighted to be joining up with the team at Tosca Debt Capital to further the charity and its work. It’s been clear from the start that they are touched by the background of our story and the work that we do. Already, they are helping us think in a new direction about how we are reaching out to people and even at this early stage there are opportunities that will really benefit many of our families. New figures published earlier this year by the Department of Health show that cancer affects around 1 in 1000 pregnancies. Mummy’s Star has helped over 600 families to-date and is the only dedicated charity in the UK and Ireland providing support to families dealing with cancer and pregnancy and we still have much more work to do!‘.
Richard Williams, Partner at TDC added: ‘With a regional focus that stretches predominantly across the Northern Powerhouse, we felt it only fitting that we supported a North West charity with a national reach and focus that is similarly niche. The charity’s work resonates with all of us at TDC as we have a number of parents in our team and many personal and family experiences of parents and loved ones lost to cancer. Yet, Pete’s story is particularly poignant for me as we were classmates in senior school, sitting next to one another from day one through alphabetical order. We’re looking forward to working with Pete and his team to raise awareness and donations. We’ll also be using our own business knowledge and collective skills to support the charity’s mission in reaching a position where all woman diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy or post-birth in the UK and Ireland are referred to Mummy’s Star and can access the fantastic support that the charity offers‘.
We believe that we can achieve great things with Richard and the team at TDC on board and we are excited by the synergy that this partnership will provide for us both in working together for the future!
