ADVOCACY SUPPORT

Here to support your choices

What is advocacy

Our role as advocate depends on your situation and the support you want. But we are here to support your choices.

Here to support your choices. We can:

  • listen to your views and concerns

  • help you explore your options and rights (without pressuring you)

  • provide information to help you make informed decisions

  • help you contact relevant people, or contact them on your behalf (with your permission)

  • accompany you and support you in meetings or appointments.

We will not:

  • give you our personal opinion

  • solve problems and make decisions for you

  • make judgements about you.

One-to-one support

At Mummy’s Star, we understand having a diagnosis of cancer in your family can be an extremely difficult and distressing time. To help you through we offer one to one support with a named key worker for as long as you want. We offer regular check-ins either by text, email or phone where you can talk about anything you are worried about or would like further information and support.

Home visits

We offer regular check-ins at Mummy’s Star to support you for as long as you need. If you would like one of our information and support workers to visit you in your own home, hospital or café to discuss what support would be helpful please contact us and we can arrange this with you.
