Mummy’s Star is the only charity in the UK and Ireland dedicated to women and birthing people diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy or within 12 months of giving birth, and their families.
Our mission is to provide cancer support to every family facing this traumatic situation.

For no mum or birthing person to feel alone following a cancer diagnosis, in or around pregnancy.
To ensure they can make informed choices about their cancer treatment and pregnancy care.
For any woman or birthing person, diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy or
within 12 months of giving birth, to be referred to Mummy’s Star to access the support we offer.

Providing support
Where there has been a cancer diagnosis in pregnancy or within 12 months of giving birth.
Advocacy on behalf of our families
This includes support at hospital appointments, working with other organisations to draw in
additional support, and employment rights advice, in addition to extending our knowledge
base and expertise about cancer and pregnancy, treatments and options for women and birthing people.
Financial support
We run our own small grants programme, supporting families with the costs cancer brings in or around pregnancy.
We also enable access to financial support beyond Mummy's Star, helping families explore benefits and workplace entitlements, grants from other charitable organisations, and locally available support.

Emotional support
Mummy's Star emotional support provides online resources, peer support through closed online forums,
and bespoke support through a dedicated Support Worker.
Bereavement
In the event of the death of a mum or birthing parent, we continue to support both the surviving partner
and can signpost to further support for other family members if requested.
