White Collar Boxing

Tommy took part in a White Collar Boxing Match to raise funds for Mummy's Star, in loving memory of his cousin, Star Mum Kerry.

"I lost my cousin Kerry in 2020 at the young age of 29 years old after her battle with cancer but of which during her illness she gave birth to her miracle little girl Scarlett whilst also leaving behind her son Rico. Mummy’s Star were amazing to my cousin and her family and as a family we are forever grateful and want to always do what we can for Mummy’s Star.

So this year I decided to step into the ring and box in a Ultra White Collar Boxing event in memory of my cousin whilst raising money for Mummy’s Star. It was one of the most rewarding but toughest experiences I’ve ever put myself through and the fight resulted in a draw.

This night wasn't about winning to me though, it was about remembering why we’re stepping into the ring in the first place and putting myself through months of training and for me that was in memory of my cousin and to raise money and awareness for a charity close to our hearts. I had a very tough bout, got a draw, raised £1330 for Mummy’s Star and enjoyed a few well earned beers with family and friends after!"

London Marathon

Janey ran the London Marathon for Mummy's Star, in loving memory of her friend and Star Mum Abi. Janey’s sister Jodie helped with the fundraising and was her number 1 cheerleader. Together they raised over £2000!

"This is in memory of Abi — an incredible friend, wife, daughter, sister, and a new mum whose life was heartbreakingly taken by cancer soon after she welcomed her beautiful baby boy, Leo.

Abi was unaware she was unwell until her baby boy arrived in the world and she felt unwell in the days after, leading to investigations in hospital, which found a late-stage cancer. Abi then died two weeks later.

Abi was truly one of a kind. She brought so much fun and laughter to the people around her. She faced everything life threw at her with strength and determination, and Janey carried those qualities with her during the marathon.

We fundraised to support raising money to honour Abi’s memory and to help other families facing the most difficult of times."

Star Mum Hayley who ran the London Marathon for Mummy's Star!

"In 2016, a rare cancer diagnosis changed everything. Through six months of chemotherapy and the devastating loss of our baby, I feared I would lose myself. Instead, I found a strength I never knew I had.

I’m now a mother to three incredible boys and, looking back, I choose to see the light in that dark chapter. Mummy’s Star was a vital part of that light. Fundraising is my way of saying thank you - of turning my experience into support for other families facing the unimaginable. I’m not just a survivor; I’m a supporter."
